Well week three and still tick free, largely down to wearing a shedload of clothes every day. I get pretty warm during the day but in my book it’s a small price to pay.

The third week was quite varied, on Wednesday morning we felled a problematic rotten Ash tree. The top of the tree was hanging in the canopy so Dan F had to fell it in such a way that it came down without getting stuck and hanging dangerously from the canopy. Once that was done we all piled in the trucks and headed to Woody Bay to extract more felled birch. It was the same operation that we did previously, a landrover pulley system.
