Baggy 75th Anniversary Walk

Thank you to all who came along to our celebratory walk yesterday. Despite a strong wind the rain held off and we had a great walk out to the headland. It was lovely to chat too so many people who have long connections with Baggy often some stretching back to early childhood. Highlights for me were listening to John’s story of how as a coastguard for 23 years they used the old coastguard post at the end of Baggy for practicing firing the breeches boy rocket and simulating rescues of ships caught on the rocks and also seeing Rosemarys lovely picture of her and her sister when they were children sitting on the old whalebone, which will be 100 hundred years old next year! For those of you that could not make the walk we finished off at Sandleigh tea Rooms with a well-earned cup of tea and I hope you agree a slice or two of the amazing cake provided by Sandleigh.
