Hollie’s Success!

These pictures of our Beach Ranger Hollie Ferris, who has been successful in applying to the prestigous National Trust Academy Ranger Training post.

Hollie will be based at Clumber park in Notinghamshire from 02 September 2013 and will spend the next 2 years getting on the job training as well as attending Rease Heath College for 2 weeks every few months.

Currently Hollie is employed as a Beach Ranger alongside Elisabeth and between them they are managing Woolacombe Dunes and Woolacombe Beach (in partnership with Parkins Estates) and with regular work parties they maintain the extensive rights of way network, control invasive weeds and manage the litter levels mainly on the beach(so far this year 300 kgs has been collected). They also run numerous fun Beach activity days and also rockpool rambles so the short summer season is a tad frantic especially considering Wollacombe attracts upto 10000 people on a busy day!.

  1. Well done Hollie on getting the Academy position and to both of you for keeping the dunes and beach looking lovely. Hope you’ve enjoyed your summer with us.

  2. Thank-you Stuart and Jemma. It was a fantastic summer and was a pleasure working with your team, I couldn’t have done it without all your help and support. All the best for the future.
