Over the past few weeks, we’ve been working on a new diversion along a section of coast path between Bucks Mills and Peppercombe. The work has come about due to the continual development of landslips along this section of coast path. The 18 steps within this section need replacing or repairing every few years, the land is gradually sliding towards the path, and due to its location can get very wet and slippery. The new path diversion (approximately 100 meters) will eradicate these issues (fingers crossed!); with fewer steps and being higher up, meaning water will flow away from the path. Being higher up also allows for a more pleasant walk due to the coastal scenery and views across to Lundy you didn’t get before.
We hope you enjoy these improvements.
