Our National Trust tent was packed with budding young crabby creators at this years Crab and Lobster Festival at Clovelly over the weekend. Much of the Trust work takes place within this Area of Outstanding Beauty (AONB) of which Clovelly is included. So the Trust teamed up with the AONB team who provided information about this wonderful area, while the Rangers got stuck in with some serious crab construction.

As you can see the children loved it, wielding hammers and axes to build a crab out of bits of wood. Then getting creative with pipe cleaners, crape paper, wool, glitter, glue, and not forgetting those googly eyes, all to create a crabby masterpiece. It was great fun!

One happy Mum tweeted: “My son made a crab today. He had the best fun ever. said he thought the ranger that helped him was bonkers in a good way Lol”

See you at the Herring Festival!!
