Having noticed a Barn owl was resting in one of our linhays, we decided to try to encourage it to nest and breed by providing it with it’s own luxury coastal home. I made a box up using some left over ply wood and then Rob and i fixed it high up on a wall inside the barn. When Jonathan popped his head into the barn a few days later, it was great to see the bird sitting on the landing platform of the box – he had obviously been checking out the internal decoration….
We will leave it undisturbed for a while now and hope that ‘he’ is a ‘she’ and that some young birds are soon seen flying overhead.
