Foot paths, peelers and caves’ win National Trust Surf trailer competition.
The winner of the National Trust surf trailer competition is Wavedreamer. Mikey from Wavedreamer said “As surfers we are blessed to be able to spend time in such a pristine environment doing what we love. This movie was created in honour of that blessing, and with thanks to the National Trust for their stewardship of our playgrounds”. Click here to view Wavedreamers film
The competition was judged by a panel including Dan ‘Mole’ Joel (National Trust Surf ambassador), Justin Seedhouse (keen surfer and National Trust Head Ranger for Bideford Bay & Hartland) as well as independent film makers from the region. The panel felt the 30 second film clip submitted by Wavedreamer best expressed what the National Trust means to surfers and how the Trust is involved in a surfer’s life. There was a strong connection with the work that is done to conserve the environment and also the effort that goes into creating access to a surfer’s playground.
The trailer will be shown every night at the London Surf Film festival prior to each of the entrants for the ’The Shorties contest’, which the National Trust are presenting as environmental partners. The National Trust is a partner for the London Surf Film Festival hosted at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith (13-15th October) http://www.londonsurffilmfestival.com/
The film was shot on location on and around National trust properties in North Devon. Richard from Wavedreamers said “This is fantastic news and brilliant to have won”. “We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it”
