Marcus and I spent 3 days last week with a brilliant school group doing various jobs on the property. The children were all 14-16 years of age and all worked incredibly hard.
On the first 2 days they dragged cut up and burnt holly on Ladies Mile. They had a really good time and come the end didn’t want to stop. I taught them all some basic fire building skills and they had a fun lunch break playing in the woods.
On the third day Marcus took the group onto the Victorian Carriageway between Heddon valley andWoodyBayclearing gorse that was blocking the view of the sea.
The group were a joy to work with and I got to know some of the characters quite well. It’s thanks to groups like this that we are able to achieve some of the work we do.
