Surf and work Working Holiday

We recently finished a week working and surfing with a bunch of hardy volunteers on our National Trust “surf & work” holiday.  They spent four days helping to resurface a stretch of coastpath near Rockham beach – lots of digging off and dressing with shillet. See the before and after photo’s, lots of great comments from walkers during the week.  Then the real hard work began, surfing!  Fortunately or unfortunately the week coincided with the tail end of Hurricane Katia, so a pretty big swell, very messy but lots of white water for the beginner surfers to play in.  Thanks to Pointbreaks for providing the surf tuition, some great instructors.

  1. Really great work – and looks like some fun was had as well!

Thank you to all the volunteers. This, as every, time.
