Solstice weekend was Goldcoast weekend, and we were all looking forward to having our National Trust stand, enjoying the blazing sunshine and generally soaking up the festival atmosphere – sadly the weather did not quite go to plan (except for the Sunday which was gorgeous!) but overall it was a great weekend, headlined by Seasick Steve and enjoyed by all.
Our stand this year featured Bella the VW campervan, with a virtual mountain bike experience, as well as a big beanbag chill out zone and willow making activity area. A big thank you to Rob Joules who came with Bella – we had loads of people competing to win against each other in the mountain bike challenge and it was great to see the competitive spirit come out in families! The willow creations were brilliant and bought our stand to life – they can now be enjoyed by children young and old in the garden of the Sandleigh Tea Room. A big big thank you, to all the volunteers who helped out on our stand and the Baggy car park team- we really couldn’t do it with out you.
Enjoy the slideshow of images – yes that is me in the orange coat holding the Olympic torch, and also look out for the Surf and Cycle Bus which is now transporting people to the North Devon beaches by public transport – a great initiative which was part funded by the North Devon AONB and which will help many local young people to get out and enjoy their local coastline. Roll on 2012!
