Hartland Small School has a Big Impact.

On the 27th of June children from Hartland Small school trecked up through Beckland Woods and on to windbury Head. Here they donned gloves and weilded bow saws and loppers to tackle a barrage of Gorse which advances towards our Iron age settllement. The management of Scrub through cutting and our resident Dartmoor Ponies help to protect the archaeology, attract more plants and animals to the site and open up wonderful views across Bideford Bay, over to lundy and on a good day beyond to south Wales.

Thanks to all the Children who helped. there’s always more scrub to bash, so see you next time.
