Ilfracombe Scouts Gorse Bashing!

Thanks to all the scouts and  cubs who came along and spent the day on Tuesday clearing gorse on Bull Point.   The weather was kind to us and everyone worked really hard and cleared a massive area of gorse.  Rob and two of our volunteers, David and Paul could not burn the cut gorse quick enough depsite the huge bonfire, we now have a mountain of gorse to burn today.  The bonfire proved to be a perfect oven for cooking some spuds on and despite  them looking rather black on the outside they did taste lovely with a bit of butter and cheese.  The toasted marshmellows weren’t bad either!

  2. That was a great day out for all of us. This gorse clearing was a follow up day to a visit we had from Jonathan where he explained Coastal Conservation to the Scouts. Thank you National Trust for a very educational, healthy and fun experience. We’ll be back!
