Woolacombe School Woodland Activity Day

Yesterday year six pupils from Woolacombe School spent the afternoon in Twitchen Woods learning how to light a fire and make a shelter.  They also took part in a blindfolded rope walk and a scavanger hunt and the most important activity of all toasted marshmellows at the end, although some looked more incinerated than toasted to me!  The afternoon was  a good opportunity for the kids to learn some new skills such as fire building in a safe and controled setting, but also working together as a team and learning to trust each other, especially with the blindfolded rope walk.   Thanks to the children and the teachers for making it such a fun afternoon.

  1. Looks like you all had a good afternoon. Don’t know if you know but Julian, Dan and I have had some training on basic team building skills many of which could be used with school groups. Is this something your team might be interested in?
